The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recorded a significant milestone during its Independence Day “Trabaho Agad” job fairs, with more than 4,000 Filipinos instantly securing employment across the country.
Data from the DOLE Bureau of Local Employment showed that 4,476 job seekers were hired on the spot during the June 12 simultaneous events. This figure marks a steady increase from previous years, surpassing the 3,665 placements in 2022, 3,422 in 2023, 3,651 in 2024, and 3,722 in 2025.
The successful candidates were hired for a wide range of roles, including educators, customer service representatives, administrative clerks, and retail personnel such as sales associates, cashiers, and baggers. Positions for production operators and food service crew members were also quickly filled.
Acting Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino welcomed the positive results, emphasizing that the high placement rate reflects the government’s commitment to connecting local talent with industry demands.
The labor chief noted that the successful turnout underscores the vital role of these fairs in the government’s economic agenda, describing the synchronized events as:
“a testament to the department’s aggressive employment facilitation efforts.”
These nationwide job fairs remain a key component of DOLE’s strategy to address unemployment and underemployment.
By creating a direct link between employers and job seekers, the initiative helps businesses meet their staffing needs while granting workers immediate entry into the labor force.
