QUEZON CITY — Former Pampanga 3rd District Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales has posted bail across two divisions of the Sandiganbayan in connection with graft charges stemming from his alleged ties to government contractor firms during his tenure in public office.
Clerks of court for the anti-graft tribunal confirmed that bail was fixed at ₱90,000 for each count. Gonzales secured his temporary freedom after posting bail before the Second Division on Friday, October 16, followed by the Seventh Division on Saturday, October 17.
Meanwhile, a separate graft case lodged by Ombudsman prosecutors against the former lawmaker remains pending before the Sandiganbayan Third Division.
Speaking during a prior press conference, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla explained that the charges filed against Gonzales stem from alleged violations of Section 3 of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, which covers conflict-of-interest provisions.
Gonzales previously served as the representative of Pampanga’s third district across two separate tenures, from 2007 to 2013 and again from 2016 to 2025.
