DUTERTE ALLIES LAUNCH RAGE COALITION, BACK VP SARA’S 2028 BID

Supporters of the family of former President Rodrigo Duterte gathered on Sunday, April 12, at Club Filipino to formally launch the Reform Alliance for Good Governance (RAGE) Coalition.

The coalition, led by Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, aims to unite multi-sector groups and stakeholders under a common cause: to fight for truth, uphold good governance, and demand accountability.

The launch came a day after Sebastian Duterte was named president of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), the political party once led by his father.

Among those present were Senators Robin Padilla and Christopher “Bong” Go, former Anakalusugan Party-list Representative Mike Defensor, Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste, former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, and former Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez.

The timing of the coalition’s unveiling coincides with the upcoming House Committee on Justice hearing on Tuesday, April 14, where Ramil Madriaga—a confessed bagman of Vice President Sara Duterte—is expected to testify in the impeachment proceedings.

Vice President Duterte’s camp has petitioned the Supreme Court of the Philippines to halt the hearings, but with no temporary restraining order issued, the House has decided to proceed.

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who has been absent from Senate sessions since November 2025, expressed support for the coalition in a televised statement.

“Hindi tayo papayag na gamitin ang politika para patahimikin ang mga lider na tunay na naglilingkod sa bayan. Ang laban na ito ay hindi lamang para sa iilan, ito ay laban para sa bawat Pilipino na naghahangad ng maayos na pamahalaan, makatarungang sistema at may magandang kinabukasan,” Dela Rosa said.

The coalition also declared its backing for Vice President Sara Duterte’s presidential bid in the 2028 elections.
