Warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, locally known as easterlies, are impacting Extreme Northern Luzon on Monday, September 14, state meteorologists reported.
According to the 5 a.m. public weather report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the easterlies will cause partly cloudy to cloudy weather with scattered, brief rain showers or thunderstorms over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila and the remaining regions of the country are similarly expected to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized thunderstorms bringing isolated rainfall throughout the day.
Weather forecasters are also tracking a Low Pressure Area (LPA 09d) currently located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 2 a.m. Monday, the system maintained a moderate likelihood of intensifying into a tropical depression within 24 hours.
PAGASA urged residents in vulnerable communities to stay vigilant against potential flash floods and landslides, particularly during sudden periods of moderate to heavy precipitation.
