EASTERLIES TO BRING CONTINUOUS RAIN SHOWERS TO VISAYAS AND MINDANAO

Several areas across the Visayas and Mindanao will experience ongoing rainfall due to the prevailing easterlies affecting the eastern sections of both island groups, the state weather bureau reported on Tuesday.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in Eastern Visayas, the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country can expect isolated downpours caused by localized thunderstorms.

Weather clearings may be disrupted by sudden heavy downpours, prompting meteorologists to warn communities about potential environmental risks.

”Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms,” the weather bureau advised.

Despite the localized weather disturbances, coastal and maritime conditions across the country are expected to stay safe for sea travel. PAGASA noted that light to moderate winds will blow across the archipelago, bringing slight to moderate sea conditions.

Additionally, the state weather agency reassured the public that no major storms are threatening the country in the coming days.

”No low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation,” PAGASA said.
