EASTERLIES TO BRING RAIN SHOWERS AS SUPER TYPHOON BAVI STAYS OUTSIDE PAR

The eastern portions of Luzon and the Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on Sunday due to the prevailing easterlies, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

The affected locations include the Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, and the Dinagat Islands. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country are also expected to see similar weather conditions, driven primarily by localized thunderstorms.

Residents in vulnerable areas are advised to remain vigilant, as severe thunderstorms could potentially trigger flash floods or landslides.

Concurrently, weather monitoring shows Super Typhoon Bavi tracking approximately 2,700 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas as of 3 a.m. Sunday. The powerful storm remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near its center and gusts reaching up to 240 kph while moving westward at 15 kph.

Because of its massive distance from the archipelago, the super typhoon currently has no direct impact on the country’s weather patterns.
