Detained lawmaker Jinggoy Estrada expressed appreciation for the flood of prayers and encouraging words he received while managing a recent knee injury.
The senator was transported to a medical facility on Wednesday following an injury to his left knee while in custody, where he was seen limping as jail officials assisted him from an ambulance for examination.
“I am deeply grateful to everyone who has sent their kind wishes and prayers as I deal with this knee ailment,” Estrada stated.
“Knowing that so many people remember me and keep me in their thoughts during these difficult times brings me great comfort. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” he added.
Following his medical checkup, Estrada was seen being escorted out of the facility.
He has been held in detention since June 1 in connection with plunder and graft charges regarding alleged kickbacks exceeding ₱573 million from government flood-control initiatives spanning 2024 to 2025.
