FIRE HITS WORKERS’ BARRACKS AT HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMPLEX

​A fire erupted at a construction workers’ barracks inside the House of Representatives complex on Sunday morning, August 2.

​The blaze broke out around 9:30 a.m. at the Artdwell Construction workers’ quarters, located behind the South Steel Parking facility, according to an incident report submitted to the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms.

​Four fire trucks dispatched to the scene managed to put out the flames, with the fire officially declared out by 9:53 a.m.

​Authorities confirmed that no injuries were recorded from the incident, while fire investigators have launched an inquiry to identify the cause of the blaze.
