First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos issued a warning on Monday regarding scammers impersonating her to solicit money and deceive citizens.
In a Facebook post, Araneta-Marcos revealed that she had been alerted to the scheme by acquaintances.
“I’ve received several messages from friends seeking to verify text exchanges allegedly coming from me,” she said.
She categorically denied involvement in the messages.
“To be clear: These messages are not from me. There are individuals impersonating others and attempting to solicit money through deception.”
The First Lady urged Filipinos to exercise caution, avoid engaging with these individuals, and refrain from providing any personal information or sending money.
She encouraged victims to report such incidents to authorities, specifically recommending the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) Cybercrime Division for immediate investigation and action.
