The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has allocated nearly ₱4.4 billion in financial relief to support 166,789 active state workers and pensioners impacted by recent tropical cyclones and southwest monsoon rains across nine Luzon localities.
“The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has earmarked nearly ₱4.4 billion in emergency loans for 166,789 active members and old-age and disability pensioners in nine areas in Luzon affected by recent and the southwest monsoon,” the pension fund stated in an official announcement.
Filing deadlines vary depending on the affected region. Borrowers in Cavite and Rodriguez, Rizal—comprising 94,750 eligible individuals—have the longest window to apply, extending until November 12 and November 16, respectively. Meanwhile, a total of 65,737 qualified applicants in Pampanga, Calumpit (Bulacan), and the Pangasinan localities of Mangaldan and Dagupan City must submit their requests by September 13.
Deadlines for other areas include September 18 for 1,964 individuals in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, and September 20 for members in Hagonoy, Bulacan, and Masinloc, Zambales.
Under the program guidelines, first-time borrowers without existing emergency loan debts can apply for up to ₱20,000. Members carrying active balances from prior emergency credits may request up to ₱40,000, with the previous loan balance deducted from the new total.
The emergency loan features a 36-month repayment period structured into equal monthly installments at a 6 percent annual interest rate, complete with built-in loan redemption insurance.
Eligible applicants can process their requests digitally through the GSIS Touch mobile application, with approved funds transferred directly to their UMID card or GSIS eCard.
