The Southwest Monsoon, locally termed Habagat, will continue to affect the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon on Tuesday, June 9, the state weather bureau announced.
According to the 4 a.m. public bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Ilocos Region, Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Zambales will face cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the monsoon.
In contrast, Metro Manila and the remainder of the country can expect fair weather, featuring partly cloudy to cloudy skies. However, isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may still develop due to localized thunderstorm activity.
PAGASA also issued updates on coastal conditions, noting that Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds blowing from the south to southwest. This will result in moderate to rough seas across the region’s coastlines.
For the rest of the archipelago, winds will remain light to moderate coming from the southeast to southwest, keeping coastal waters slight to moderate.
Meanwhile, weather monitors confirmed that no Low Pressure Area (LPA) or potential tropical cyclone is currently being tracked inside or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
