The southwest monsoon, or habagat, is expected to trigger rainfall across Luzon and the western portion of the Visayas on Tuesday, June 2, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. forecast, the agency noted that the southwest monsoon will bring intermittent rains to Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro. Meanwhile, the habagat will also cause overcast skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas.
For the remainder of the Philippines, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies, accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
This weather pattern follows the departure of Typhoon Domeng, which officially left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at noon on Monday. PAGASA stated that it is currently not tracking any low-pressure areas (LPA) that could potentially develop into a tropical cyclone.
