The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, continues to impact the western section of Northern Luzon today, June 11, bringing overcast skies and scattered rain showers to the region.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the prevailing monsoon will trigger cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands.
In contrast, Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country are expected to experience fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies punctuated by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized weather systems.
Coastal and wind conditions in Northern Luzon will see moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds originating from the southeast to south will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.
State meteorologists also confirmed that daylight started with the sunrise at 5:26 a.m., while sunset is anticipated at 6:25 p.m.
Furthermore, weather monitors report that no low pressure areas (LPA) are currently being tracked inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), and there is no immediate threat of tropical cyclone formation.
