Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson has hit back at Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano’s recent allegations, dismissing comments made during Cayetano’s social media livestream as “wild insinuations” and “black propaganda.”
The exchange sparked after Cayetano publicly questioned a major spike in Lacson’s declared wealth, drawing from the senator’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) dated June 30, 2025.
Cayetano framed his critique around his anti-graft campaign banner “KKK,” which stands for “Katotohanan, Konstitusyon and (Paglaban sa) Korapsyon.”
Responding online, Lacson clarified that the growth of his personal wealth was actually far higher than the doubling figure Cayetano had implied.
”Let me correct Sen Alan Cayetano’s latest live selling on FB using wild insinuations and black propaganda against me. Hindi nag-doble ang net worth sa SALN ko in 2025 compared to 2022 when I left the Senate. Actually, more than four times ang increase at ₱244.9M compared to ₱58.7M in 2022 – the year I left government,” Lacson said on his social media account.
The senator attributed his financial gains to private corporate investments and property developments executed after his departure from public service.
”Whatever money I have, I definitely earned legitimately through some real estate deals and other legitimate businesses with two other business partners as a private individual, and I paid ₱10.5M and ₱2.8M (in taxes) respectively as reflected in my ITRs (income tax returns).”
Lacson then turned the tables on Cayetano, drawing a sharp contrast between their legislative records regarding state funds and commissions from public works.
”Unlike Sen Cayetano with ₱6.79B in budget insertions under the 2025 GAA, (I have no) insertions a.k.a. pork barrel since I became a senator. (And I do not have any) 25% kickback (for) slope protection and other infra projects. I don’t know about him, but I have consistently refused lobby monies in relation to my job as a legislator,” he added.
Regarding Cayetano’s push for a Senate Blue Ribbon committee investigation into flood-control anomalies, Lacson told his colleague to practice patience while making a cryptic remark about Cayetano’s own bailiwick.
”And yes, re Blue Ribbon hearings, huwag siyang mainip, meron ding ghost sa Taguig,” he said.
Furthermore, Lacson alleged that a pair of projects valued at ₱75 million—integrated within Cayetano’s purported ₱6.79-billion budget allocations in the 2025 General Appropriations Act—have not been released or obligated in Taguig City.
He additionally claimed that Taguig’s city engineer, whom he labeled a “self-styled BGC boy,” has been regularly gambling in various Metro Manila casinos.
