Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson stated on Friday that the probe into suspected ghost infrastructure in Taguig City has gained significant momentum, pointing toward newly identified middlemen, additional suspicious public works, and stronger evidence linking Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano.
Detailing the investigation’s recent developments in a social media update, Lacson shared:
”Ang daming damning (evidence). The plot thickens. The list lengthens. The case strengthens. Kung merong ‘shoot sa balde,’ meron ding SHOOT SA KALDERO.”
Lacson noted that team members have pinpointed several other figures who might possess insight into or direct links to the contested contracts, indicating that the scheme likely involves a network of actors rather than an isolated player.
Furthermore, the lawmaker revealed the discovery of additional slope mitigation works valued at ₱100 million each, driving the combined sum of scrutinized infrastructure projects to roughly ₱3.38 billion.
He highlighted that two distinct projects shared the exact same site and identical descriptions, signaling that one may be an entirely fabricated undertaking.
Lacson also alleged that multiple builds showed overlapping operational scopes along with structural flaws—a setup he argued was designed to siphon kickbacks.
Should the collected evidence prove robust enough, Lacson indicated he might bypass a formal Senate inquiry and refer the dossier straight to the Office of the Ombudsman to fast-track legal proceedings.
While the present focus remains fixed on Taguig following critiques leveled by Cayetano, Lacson stressed that the probe is part of a broader, nationwide examination into anomalous public infrastructure projects.
