Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said Senate employees should no longer be uncertain about whose directives to follow amid the ongoing leadership dispute in the Senate, citing the recognition of acting Senate President Win Gatchalian by several government institutions.
In a radio interview on Tuesday, Lacson said support from Malacañang, the House of Representatives, the Civil Service Commission, and other organizations has made it clear which Senate leadership is being acknowledged by key institutions.
“Maliwanag naman sa atin kung sinong kinikilala ng Malacañang, ng House of Representatives, ng Civil Service Commission, ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines, at kung ano-ano pang mga grupo—kung sino talaga ang kinikilalang liderato ng Senado,” Lacson said.
According to Lacson, directives being issued by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, who continues to maintain that he remains Senate president, are creating confusion among Senate personnel.
“So maliwanag na panggulo ang ginagawa ni Senator Alan, with all due respect—nakaka-confuse, nakakagulo,” he added.
The statement came after competing Senate factions released separate instructions to employees.
Cayetano directed Senate staff to report onsite on June 10 and 11 as part of preparations for the Independence Day celebration.
Meanwhile, Gatchalian ordered employees to work from home during the same period, citing security considerations and ongoing operational adjustments within the institution.
