MMDA’S TORRE WILLING TO JOIN HUNT FOR BATO AMID ICC WARRANT

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) expressed readiness to assist in tracking down Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa once official directives are issued following an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

MMDA General Manager and former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Nicolas Torre III affirmed on Friday that he remains an active component of the nation’s law enforcement network, ready to execute orders coming directly from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Part pa rin naman ako ng gobyerno. Kaya sa manhunt pwede kami sumali,” Torre stated during a forum at the Manila Hotel.

I am still part of the government. So when it comes to a manhunt, we can join.

Torre, known for his involvement in high-profile operations that led to the arrests of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy, noted that the MMDA could utilize its widespread presence across the capital to support tracking efforts.

He jokingly mentioned that agency personnel could keep an eye on areas within their daily jurisdiction.

“Malay mo nagtago sa landfill, nagtago sa estero, nagtago sa kalsada, pwede nyo kaming maasahan diyan,” Torre added in jest.

You never know, he might hide in a landfill, hide in an estuary, hide on the road, you can count on us there.

However, the MMDA official clarified that operations outside the scope of traffic and metro management would ultimately be spearheaded by specialized law enforcement agencies.

Torre emphasized that any participation by the MMDA would align with the Marcos administration’s “whole-of-government approach,” ensuring seamless inter-agency coordination.
