NBI FILES HUMAN TRAFFICKING CHARGES AGAINST MIKE DEFENSOR AND FAMILY

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has submitted formal qualified human trafficking complaints against former Anakalusugan Party-list Representative Mike Defensor, his wife Julie, and their children, Atty. Michaela Defensor and Miguel Gabriel Defensor.

Filed before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office, the complaints stem from an April 21 raid at the Chicago KTV Bar in Pasig, where authorities rescued more than 50 victims of alleged sexual exploitation.

The legal complaint also names Lawrence Tan, the president of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club who was allegedly present during the operation, alongside multiple executives from Cliffpoint Development.

NBI investigators claim that the Chicago KTV Bar and the neighboring Bleu Hotel were intentionally remodeled to facilitate human trafficking activities. The bureau further asserts that these structural changes were carried out with the explicit permission of the former legislator.

The filing concludes a deep-dive investigation by the NBI into the venue’s links to organized sexual exploitation, which came to light during the April sting operation.

Defensor has strongly denied the allegations, framing the legal issue as an attempt to undermine him.

The Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office will now conduct a preliminary investigation to evaluate whether there is enough probable cause to officially indict the respondents in court.
