OVP CLARIFIES SCHEDULING PLATFORM NOT A GOV’T WEBSITE AMID ALLEGED DATA LEAK REPORTS

MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) clarified on Thursday, November 5, that a scheduling platform linked to recent data leak reports is not an official government website and does not hold any confidential or classified information.

In an official advisory, the OVP stressed that the platform’s status must be clearly understood to prevent public misunderstandings regarding the security of state systems.

“Therefore, any alleged data leak involving the platform should not be automatically construed as a breach nor compromise of any government information,” the OVP stated.

The statement addresses circulating reports concerning a supposed security breach involving the third-party scheduling site. Expressing skepticism over the timing of the claims, the office suggested that the incident could be tied to political motives.

“The timing and circumstances surrounding the allegations raise concerns that this issue may be part of a broader politically motivated effort to discredit the Vice President and the Office,” the advisory added.

Urging caution against the spread of unverified claims, the OVP emphasized that the public needs accurate facts rather than speculation.

Furthermore, the office called on media organizations and interested groups to practice responsible reporting and verify details thoroughly before drawing conclusions.
