The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced in its Wednesday morning forecast that the Northeast Monsoon, locally known as amihan, is set to affect portions of Luzon over the next 24 hours.
According to the state weather bureau, residents in Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan, and Isabela should prepare for cloudy skies accompanied by light rains. Meanwhile, similar weather conditions featuring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are anticipated across the Ilocos Region, the remaining areas of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon.
In addition to the monsoon, a shear line will trigger cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and isolated thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
PAGASA also noted that Metro Manila and the rest of the nation will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
Maritime conditions will vary across regions, with moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters forecasted for Northern Luzon alongside the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon. The remainder of the country can expect light to moderate winds paired with slight to moderate coastal waters.
