A low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies are set to bring wet weather across broad swathes of Luzon, state weather bureau PAGASA reported on Wednesday.
Located over the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay as of 3 a.m., the LPA remains unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours. However, it will trigger scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.
Simultaneously, the easterlies will affect Cagayan and Isabela with scattered rains and thunderstorms. PAGASA has cautioned residents in affected areas that moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods or landslides.
Isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms are anticipated over the rest of the country, where severe thunderstorms may also cause localized flooding or landslides.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected throughout the Philippine archipelago.
