PBBM APPOINTS NEW VISAYAS PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Philip Lo as the new secretary of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), Malacañang confirmed on Wednesday, July 8.

The announcement was made by Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro during a media briefing at the Palace.

Lo brings extensive experience from both the government and private sectors. He previously served as chairperson of the Development Bank of the Philippines and held key leadership roles at the Coast Pacific Group of Companies and Toyota Mabolo Cebu, Inc.

His public service career also includes serving as a director of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) from 2002 to 2010, as well as a board member of Cocogen Insurance, Inc.

A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Lo earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has completed advanced studies in Corporate Governance.

During the same briefing, Castro also announced the appointment of attorney Nesauro Firme as a member of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).

Malacañang said President Marcos is expected to administer the oath of office to both Lo and Firme in the coming days.
