PBBM COMMENDS PSC ON 128TH ANNIVERSARY

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has praised the Presidential Security Command (PSC) for its steadfast dedication to protecting the First Family and defending the nation’s democratic institutions.

Speaking at the PSC’s 128th anniversary event held at Malacañang Park on Friday, Marcos emphasized the critical historical role of the elite unit—previously called the Presidential Security Group—in ensuring the safety of the chief executive and maintaining national stability.

“For over the century, the PSC has now served as a security arm of the presidency, protecting not only the Office of the President, but also the institutions that keep our democracy strong and our Republic stable,” the President said.

The President went on to express deep appreciation for the heavy personal toll and sacrifices endured by the security personnel in the line of duty.

“I want to acknowledge what that presence cost you. While we sleep soundly in our beds at night, you are awake, missing precious time with your loved ones, working to ensure that my family and I remain safe and that is a sacrifice that I take seriously, and one that I carry with deep gratitude,” he said.

“That is how important your job is. And that is how important the job it is that you do, and that you do so very well, and so very professionally,” he added.

Marcos also gave special recognition to the Security Task Action Group for their outstanding professionalism and operational excellence.

“On a personal note, I can say that not once from the first day that I stepped into Malacañang have I felt anything but safe in your hands,” he said.

Currently commanded by Rear Adm. Andro Val Abayon, the PSC functions as a specialized unit under the Armed Forces of the Philippines, tasked with safeguarding the President, the First Family, and the entire Malacañang Palace complex.
