President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced that the government has fulfilled its pledge to provide patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to all 82 provinces across the Philippines.
”Sa wakas, nakumpleto din natin ang pagbigay nitong patient transport vehicles at lahat na ng ating mga LGU, meron tayong masasabi na magagamit nila para sa kanilang pasyente,” Marcos said during the turnover of emergency vehicles in San Fernando, Pampanga on Friday, July 24.
“Today is a little different because today, by giving the PTVs that we have behind us, we have now completed 100 percent distribution of PTVs to every province, to every city, to every municipality in the Philippines,” the President added.
Every PTV is outfitted with essential medical equipment—including an oxygen system, stretcher, spine board, wheelchair, first aid supplies, and blood pressure monitor—alongside critical safety gear like a fire extinguisher and early warning devices.
The President emphasized that all provinces now possess at least one emergency vehicle designed for swift patient transfer to healthcare centers during critical situations.
During the event, President Marcos and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos turned over 34 additional units to local government units spread across Central and Northern Luzon.
This initiative stems from a prior presidential mandate instructing the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to ensure every municipality and city secures at least one PTV. From Friday’s distribution of 34 units, 14 were designated for Region III, six for the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), six for Region I, and eight for Region II.
Specifically, CAR’s allocation was divided among Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province. In Region I, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur received one unit each, while La Union and Pangasinan were awarded two each. Region II’s eight units were split evenly with two going to Batanes, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino respectively.
With the land vehicle phase wrapped up, President Marcos revealed that the program will transition to supplying sea vessels to local government units, aiming to accelerate medical transport for residents in island regions.
