PBBM DECLARES LOCAL HOLIDAYS IN 13 AREAS FOR JUNE

​President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued a series of proclamations declaring special non-working days in 13 localities across the Philippines this June to allow residents to celebrate their respective local anniversaries and festivals.

​The executive orders, signed on May 26 and May 28, aim to encourage civic participation in these milestone events.

​The first holiday takes effect on Monday, June 1, in the municipality of Palapag, Northern Samar, in observance of Sumuroy Day. Under Proclamation No. 1268, President Marcos emphasized the importance of community involvement for the occasion.

​”[I]t is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Palapag be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the President stated.

​Several other areas will enjoy localized holidays throughout the month:

  • June 3 (Wednesday): Ayungon, Negros Oriental will observe a special non-working day for its 102nd township anniversary (Proclamation No. 1273).
  • June 6 (Saturday): Zamboanga del Norte will celebrate its 74th founding anniversary (Proclamation No. 1274).
  • June 9 (Tuesday): Rosario, Batangas will mark its founding anniversary (Proclamation No. 1275).
  • June 17 (Wednesday): Lapu-Lapu City will observe its 65th charter anniversary (Proclamation No. 1276).
  • June 19 (Friday): Laoag City, Ilocos Norte will celebrate its charter anniversary (Proclamation No. 1278).
  • June 24 (Wednesday): Tiaong, Quezon Province will hold a holiday for its annual town fiesta (Proclamation No. 1279).

​Additionally, a synchronized wave of municipal holidays will take place on Thursday, June 18. Proclamation Nos. 1266, 1269, 1270, 1271, 1272, and 1277 have designated this date as a special non-working day in the following areas:

  • Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro (60th founding anniversary)
  • Presentacion, Camarines Sur (65th charter anniversary)
  • Carmen, Davao del Norte (Founding anniversary)
  • Kalilangan, Bukidnon (60th founding anniversary)
  • Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya (Founding anniversary)
  • San Fernando, Bukidnon (60th founding anniversary)

​The distributed declarations ensure that residents in each affected locality can fully observe their hometown’s cultural and historical milestones.
