MANILA, Philippines — Local residents in five municipalities across the Philippines are set to enjoy upcoming long weekends and official breaks after Malacañang declared special non-working days for their respective town celebrations.
Through separate official issuances signed on September 24 by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the chief executive declared localized holidays to give community members full opportunity to take part in the festivities.
The schedule of special non-working days covers the following areas:
- September 28 (Monday) – Luna, Isabela: Proclamation No. 1450 marks the town’s 77th founding anniversary.
- September 29 (Tuesday) – Argao, Cebu: Proclamation No. 1451 establishes the holiday for Araw ng Argao.
- October 1 (Thursday) – Aborlan, Palawan: Proclamation No. 1452 observes the municipality’s annual town fiesta.
- October 2 (Friday) – Solano, Nueva Vizcaya: Proclamation No. 1453 designates the date for Solano Day.
- October 5 (Monday) – Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur: Proclamation No. 1454 marks the area’s 142nd founding anniversary.
According to the Palace, the localized holidays were granted to ensure that residents in each locality have the full opportunity to participate in and celebrate their local heritage and milestones.
