President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to refine its assistance programs, optimize fund management, and forge stronger ties with hospitals and government agencies to better serve Filipinos in need.
Marking the agency’s 92nd anniversary, Marcos underscored the necessity of making charitable aid both accessible and efficient. He anchored the PCSO’s mission in the traditional Filipino value of damayan, or mutual aid during hardships.
“This distinctive Filipino quality of damayan is what makes our people strong, virtuous, and resilient, allowing us to shoulder enormous burdens for the sake of others and to assure our compatriots that they are never forgotten nor left behind,” Marcos said.
The President urged the agency to leverage its 92-year history by creating transparent assistance frameworks and enhancing coordination with healthcare providers to help beneficiaries recover from adversity with dignity.
“I ask the PCSO family to keep this goal at the very center of every decision that you make, as you uphold responsible gaming,” he added.
Financially, the PCSO continues to generate robust revenues through its lottery and sweepstakes operations to fund these public welfare initiatives.
In August, the agency reported a first-half revenue of ₱32.68 billion for 2026, marking an increase from ₱31.89 billion in 2025 and ₱30.98 billion in 2024. Additionally, its 2025 annual report showed that the agency distributed ₱32.68 billion in charity and medical aid, aiding 251,477 patients and 1,300 local government units.
