PBBM ORDERS FULL, IMMEDIATE OIL PRICE ROLLBACK AS FUEL COSTS DROP

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on oil companies Saturday to implement a full and immediate price reduction on petroleum products, following forecasts of a second consecutive week of rollbacks.

Effective Tuesday, April 21, diesel prices are expected to drop by approximately ₱24.94 per liter, gasoline by ₱3.41, and kerosene by ₱2.00.

May ginhawang parating.”

The President emphasized that the private sector must pass these savings directly to consumers without delay.

To mitigate the impact of high fuel costs on the transport sector, Marcos highlighted the continuation of the ₱10 fuel discount for Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) and the Service Contracting Program for drivers.

He also announced a three-month validity extension for expiring driver’s licenses, student permits, conductor’s licenses, and vehicle registrations to provide further financial breathing room.

Marcos encouraged the public to report any irregularities or companies failing to comply with the price adjustments, noting that the Department of Energy (DOE) is ready to take action.

Kikilos kami agad,” he said.

The President concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting Filipinos amidst global economic volatility.
