President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has commended overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the wider Filipino diaspora for enhancing the global standing of the Philippines through their exceptional work ethic, dedication, and professionalism.
Speaking during a gathering with the Filipino community in Vancouver, Canada, as part of his official visit, the President highlighted that migrant Filipinos serve as some of the nation’s finest global ambassadors.
He emphasized that their impact goes far beyond financial remittances, as they significantly uplift the country’s international image through cultural promotion and active participation in their host communities.
“Napakalaki na tulong sa ekonomiya. Ngunit pinapaganda po ninyo ang reputasyon ng Pilipinas sa buong mundo,” the President said.
According to the President, Canadian officials and corporate leaders hold Filipino professionals in incredibly high regard, viewing them as vital members of their society.
Expressing his deep gratitude, the President concluded by acknowledging the enduring contributions of the global Filipino community to both their home country and the nations they now reside in.
