PBBM: REGIONAL WAGE BOARDS REVIEWING POSSIBLE PAY HIKES

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Wednesday that regional wage boards nationwide are reviewing the necessity of salary increases to help workers cope with the rising cost of living and local economic conditions.

Speaking during a visit to Pulilan, Bulacan, the President noted that the Regional Tripartite Wage Boards are actively balancing laborer welfare with regional economic capacities, with formal recommendations for potential hikes expected by September or October.

Pointing to the recently approved ₱85 daily minimum wage hike in the National Capital Region (NCR), Marcos assured that the government will carefully evaluate upcoming regional proposals to provide adequate support while respecting provincial economic differences.

September, October pa ‘yung mga iba,” the President said.

Meanwhile, the new NCR wage adjustment will roll out in two stages: a ₱60 increase on July 19, and a final ₱25 increase on January 20, 2027.

Once fully active, the daily minimum wage in Metro Manila will rise to ₱780 for non-agricultural workers and ₱743 for agricultural and small retail employees.
