President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will head to Singapore tomorrow for a three-day working visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties and pitching the Philippines to foreign investors.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the President will be in Singapore from July 14 to 16.
During his stay, Marcos is slated to hold a courtesy meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to explore expanded partnerships in trade, investment, environmental initiatives, healthcare, and global development.
The dialogue will also emphasize both nations’ commitment to ASEAN centrality and regional stability, particularly as Singapore prepares to take over the ASEAN chairmanship in 2027 following the Philippines’ tenure this year.
In addition to state meetings, the President will join a private roundtable discussion with global business executives hosted by the Milken Institute at the Philippine Embassy. The dialogue aims to secure more foreign capital following the Philippines’ recent elevation to an upper middle-income economy.
Meanwhile, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos is scheduled to speak at the Global Economic Cooperation East Summit, following an invitation from the Future Economic Cooperation Council to discuss international economic cooperation alongside global government and business leaders.
