PBBM’S APPROVAL AND TRUST RATINGS RISE IN Q1 2026 – OCTA

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. registered higher public approval and trust ratings in the first quarter of 2026, according to a non-commissioned survey released Monday by OCTA Research.

The survey, conducted from March 19 to 25, found that 55% of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the President’s performance, up four percentage points from the 51% recorded in the final quarter of 2025.

Regional Breakdown
Marcos maintained majority performance ratings across major regions:

  • Balance Luzon: 57%
  • Visayas: 56%
  • National Capital Region (NCR): 53%
  • Mindanao: 51%

Across socioeconomic classes, the President received 56% satisfaction ratings from both Class ABC and Class D respondents, while his rating among Class E respondents was lower at 48%.

Meanwhile, 26% of Filipinos said they were dissatisfied with his performance, while 19% remained undecided. Dissatisfaction was highest in Mindanao at 37%.

The President’s trust rating also improved, climbing to 54%, a six-point increase from the 48% posted in late 2025.

Trust levels were highest in Balance Luzon at 59% and lowest in Mindanao at 45%. Among socioeconomic groups, Class D posted the highest trust level at 55%, followed by Class ABC at 52% and Class E at 49%.

On the other hand, 30% of Filipinos expressed distrust toward the President. Distrust was highest in Mindanao at 45% and among Class ABC respondents at 39%. Distrust in other groups stood at 28% for Class D and 29% for Class E.
