PH SUPREME COURT CONDUCTS 2026 SHARI’AH BAR EXAMS IN FOUR NATIONWIDE VENUES

The Supreme Court of the Philippines commenced the 2026 Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations (SSBE) today, May 24, across four localized testing centers nationwide, with the final leg of the two-day exams scheduled for May 27.

According to the high tribunal, the specialized examinations are being held concurrently at designated centers in Quezon City, Davao City, Iligan City, and Zamboanga City. These exams are crucial for aspiring legal professionals seeking admission to the Shari’ah Bar, which qualifies them to practice before Islamic law courts in the country.

For the National Capital Region, New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City was selected to serve as the national headquarters for this year’s credentials.

In anticipation of the influx of examinees, the Quezon City local government issued a comprehensive traffic and public safety advisory for areas encompassing the NEU campus.

While local authorities clarified that no total road closures or rerouting schemes would take effect, they advised motorists to brace for heavier traffic congestion along Central Avenue. Delays are expected during peak examinee arrival and departure hours, specifically from 4:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m., and later from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Furthermore, Quezon City officials appealed to nearby residents and business establishments to preserve a peaceful environment for the test-takers by refraining from noisy, disruptive activities.

The city government explicitly banned mass gatherings, parades, traditional salubong welcome events, parties, concerts, and videoke sessions near the venue. Strict prohibitions against alcohol consumption, smoking, vaping, unauthorized drone operations, and carrying firearms are also being enforced around the testing perimeter to ensure an orderly, secure, and quiet examination period.
