PHILLIPS, BALTAZAR RETURN TO GILAS ROSTER FOR FIBA QUALIFIERS

Former De La Salle University standouts Mike Phillips and Justine Baltazar are returning to the national team after being named to the 12-man Gilas Pilipinas roster for the third window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

National team head coach Tim Cone selected the duo for two upcoming away games. Gilas Pilipinas is scheduled to play New Zealand on July 3, followed by a matchup against Australia on July 6.

The inclusion of Phillips and Baltazar marks their return to international competition after a multi-year absence. The two big men are expected to provide much-needed frontcourt support as mainstay center Kai Sotto and Quentin Millora-Brown sit out the upcoming qualifiers.

Fresh off a PBA championship run, Barangay Ginebra players Justin Brownlee, Scottie Thompson, RJ Abarrientos, and Troy Rosario were also named to the squad.

Completing the official 12-man lineup are AJ Edu, Chris Newsome, Kevin Quiambao, Dwight Ramos, and Carl Tamayo.

Meanwhile, Gilas regular Calvin Oftana will miss this specific qualification window as he recovers from lower leg injuries.
