CAMP CRAME, Quezon City — To guarantee public safety and maintain order during the traditional observance of Undas, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has ramped up its security deployment to a total of more than 141,000 personnel across the country.
During a press briefing at Camp Crame on Wednesday, October 28, PNP Spokesperson PCol. Allen Rae Co announced that the initial police deployment target has been increased to over 73,000 active officers as part of intensified security protocols for the yearly event.
To bolster these efforts, the police force will be backed by more than 16,500 personnel from allied agencies, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Additionally, over 51,500 force multipliers—such as barangay peacekeeping volunteers and civilian security groups—will be stationed at cemeteries, major highways, and high-density public areas.
With millions of Filipinos expected to journey back to their respective provinces for the long weekend, Co advised citizens to organize their itineraries ahead of schedule to manage heavy traffic congestion.
“We are reminding the public to plan their travel accordingly when going to their home provinces, as we expect heavy volume on October 30,” Co stated.
“We will be deploying an appropriate number of personnel to our transportation hubs, airports, seaports and bus stations,” he added.
Co noted that the expanded security grid reflects ongoing strategic adjustments made by law enforcement to accommodate holiday travel patterns and population surges.
“We keep on adjusting depending on the need. Undas falls on fixed dates, November 1 and 2, but depending on where October 31 falls, especially if it lands on a weekday right before the holidays, we factor those considerations into our planning,” he explained.
