The Philippine National Police (PNP) has maintained heightened security protocols across major transportation hubs and key roadways as commuters and motorists travel back home following the Undas weekend.
In an official statement released on Monday, November 2, the PNP confirmed that all regional police offices have been directed to sustain high-visibility patrols along major highways, airports, seaports, bus terminals, and transport interchanges—especially in areas expecting heavy passenger and vehicle traffic.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that police forces remain on full alert to protect returning travelers and keep public order stable throughout the post-Undas rush.
“As travelers make their way back to their homes, schools, and workplaces, the PNP remains fully mobilized to keep roads secure, maintain public order, and respond swiftly to any incident that may disrupt travel,” Nartatez said.
“Our priority is to ensure that every Filipino reaches their destination safely.”
Nartatez also appealed to motorists to prioritize road safety, obey traffic laws, and combat fatigue before driving long distances.
“No destination is worth risking lives for. We urge motorists to follow traffic laws, avoid speeding, never drive under the influence of alcohol, refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and take adequate rest before long trips,” he added.
In related figures, the PNP reported that over 1.16 million individuals visited Manila’s two major public cemeteries on November 1 for All Saints’ Day.
