The Philippine National Police (PNP) expressed support for the proposed five percent base pay raise for uniformed personnel next year, noting that the salary adjustment will boost morale and advance officer welfare across the country.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that the pay raise demonstrates the government’s appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of law enforcers maintaining public safety.
“The increase in the salary of police officers is a fitting recognition of their selfless service to the Filipino people,” Nartatez said.
“To every police officer, let this serve as a continuous motivation to serve with honor, integrity and dedication in the interest of peace and order and general welfare of the Filipino people we vowed to protect,” he said.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has earmarked ₱73.7 billion for the subsistence, salaries, benefits, healthcare, and operational assets of military and uniformed personnel.
Furthermore, the PNP has been slated to receive a ₱242.5-billion total budget allocation for 2027 to fund its ongoing law enforcement and community safety operations.
Nartatez emphasized that the boost in compensation comes with an expectation of enhanced professionalism, accountability, and performance from police officers nationwide.
