POLICE ARREST 13 AND SEIZE ₱12M IN EQUIPMENT DURING ILIGAN CITY ONLINE GAMING RAID

Authorities arrested 13 individuals and confiscated approximately ₱12 million worth of equipment during a raid on an illegal online gaming operation in Iligan City, as part of the government’s intensified crackdown on unlawful offshore gaming and cyber scams.

According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the raided site in Barangay Hinapolan was a sophisticated setup rather than a simple guerrilla operation. The raid was executed on October 29 by a joint team of police and law enforcement units armed with a search warrant following verified intelligence reports.

Those apprehended include two managers and 11 online dealers, who are currently detained in police custody. They face criminal charges, including violations of Republic Act No. 12312, also known as the Anti-POGO Act of 2025.

During the operation, authorities recovered a large cache of broadcasting and betting equipment, including computer processing units, monitors, cameras, recording devices, tablets, card scanners, gaming tables, card decks, and lighting accessories.

PAOCC Executive Director Usec. Benjamin Acorda Jr. confirmed these details regarding the ongoing investigation and enforcement actions.
