A Church-based poll watchdog has issued an urgent appeal to unregistered Filipinos to sign up for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) before the rapidly approaching deadline.
In a social media advisory released on Saturday, the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) reminded eligible citizens to visit their local Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices to complete their applications before the window officially closes on May 18 at 5 p.m.
“Make your vote count! Register now!” the group said.
“Registration ends on May 18, 2026 at 5 p.m.”
“Bring a valid government ID with you. Valid student ID will,” the PPCRV added.
The grassroots elections are slated to take place nationwide on November 2, 2026.
Registration Breakdown
According to established election rules, applicants aged 18 and older are eligible to register as regular voters for the barangay polls. Meanwhile, youth applicants aged 15 to 17 can submit applications to participate in the Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) elections.
The latest statistical update from the poll body revealed that a total of 4,740,551 voter registration applications had already been logged across the country. The current cycle originally kicked off on October 20, 2025, and the metrics account for all submissions recorded up to May 9, 2026.
Additional Local Election Services
Beyond processing new voter sign-ups, COMELEC confirmed that local offices remain open to accommodate several other voter record adjustments. Citizens can utilize the remaining timeframe to file requests for:
- Transfer of registration records
- Changes in marital or civil status
- Correction of typographical and database entries
- Reactivation of deactivated voter profiles
Unregistered individuals are advised to head to their designated local registration centers with acceptable identification before Monday afternoon to secure their eligibility for the November polls.
