Acting Senate President Win Gatchalian assured the Senate’s 2,100 employees on Wednesday that their salaries and benefits will be released on schedule, despite the ongoing leadership dispute within the chamber.
Gatchalian authorized the payroll after the Landbank of the Philippines officially recognized his authority to sign off on compensation for the legislative staff following a recent leadership reorganization.
He emphasized that the institution’s operations and financial obligations to its workers remain smooth and unhindered by current political tensions.
Gatchalian stressed that employees deserve uninterrupted and timely compensation for their service.
To prevent any disruptions, Gatchalian previously noted that the Senate Finance team would work onsite to process the weekly payroll, ensuring all staff members receive their pay on time.
