The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is expected to bring widespread rains across Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA warned that Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas will face scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The weather bureau cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods or landslides in these affected areas.
The remainder of Luzon, as well as the rest of the country, will see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms driven by localized weather systems. Heavy downpours during severe thunderstorms may also cause localized flooding and landslides.
Coastal conditions along the western section of Luzon will feature moderate winds and moderate seas. Across the rest of the archipelago, light to moderate winds will prevail, accompanied by slight to moderate sea waters.
