House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III led the House of Representatives on Wednesday in celebrating Eid’l Adha with the Muslim community, calling on all Filipinos to foster solidarity, mutual respect, and empathy across diverse faiths and cultures.
In a video message, the Isabela lawmaker emphasized that the Feast of Sacrifice highlights universal principles of devotion, selflessness, and spiritual obedience—values that enrich and inspire the entire nation.
(To our Muslim brothers and sisters here in the Philippines and in different parts of the world, a peaceful and meaningful celebration of Eid’l Adha.)
Speaker Dy underscored that the religious milestone serves as a vital reminder that a shared national identity and collective aspirations for progress far outweigh any cultural or religious divides.
(May Eid’l Adha serve as a reminder that despite our differences in faith and culture, our unity remains stronger as Filipinos with a single aspiration for peace, brotherhood, and the progress of our nation.)
He further urged the public to actively practice empathy and harmony to continuously reinforce the social fabric of the country.
(In these times, it is important that we continue to let understanding, respect, and compassion for one another prevail so that we can further strengthen the unity of our nation.)
Eid’l Adha, known widely as the Feast of Sacrifice, stands as one of Islam’s most sacred observances, honoring Prophet Ibrahim’s profound obedience to God’s command.
To allow citizens across the country to participate in the occasion, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. previously declared May 27 a regular nationwide non-working holiday.
