Navotas City Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco has called on former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co to face the corruption and malversation charges filed against him upon his return to the Philippines.
In a statement, Tiangco expressed hope that Co would respond to the allegations and reveal the identities of his alleged accomplices.
The lawmaker underscored that Co is central to what has been described as one of the largest corruption scandals in Philippine history, stressing that accountability remains a demand of the public.
To expedite Co’s return, Tiangco urged the government to send a high-level delegation to the Czech Republic to coordinate with authorities. Reports indicated that Co was intercepted by officials while en route to Germany.
