VINCE DIZON HOLDS PRIVATE MEETING WITH NAGA MAYOR LENI ROBREDO

MANILA, Philippines — Returning Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon paid an unannounced visit to Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday, October 26, with both camps keeping details of their discussion strictly confidential.

The clandestine meeting coincided with Malacañang’s announcement regarding a cabinet shakeup, which designated Dizon to return to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) while Secretary Giovanni Lopez steps in to lead the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to reports, Dizon requested an in-depth, private conversation with the Naga local chief executive. The meeting was notably absent from the DPWH’s official itineraries and social media briefings, which instead highlighted Dizon’s inspection of the Kilicao-Binitayan Bridge in Daraga, Albay, earlier that same day.

The high-profile interaction has once again fueled online speculation regarding potential political realignments and efforts to forge an alliance ahead of the 2028 national elections. However, Dizon has repeatedly dismissed these rumors, maintaining that he has no intentions of seeking an elective post.

Prior to this latest trip, Dizon was last spotted in Naga on October 1, when he briefly joged before meeting with Robredo.
