A recent nationwide survey conducted by Pulse Asia from February 27 to March 2 reveals a shifting landscape for the 2028 presidential elections, with Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and Senator Raffy Tulfo emerging as formidable challengers to frontrunner Vice President Sara Duterte.
While Duterte maintains her position at the top with 51% of voter preference, Robredo has significantly closed the gap, securing 43% support. The survey highlights a polarized geographic divide: Duterte remains nearly unopposed in Mindanao with 93% and holds a strong majority in the Visayas at 67%. Conversely, Robredo has established dominance in Balance Luzon with 67% and narrowly leads in the National Capital Region (NCR) with 42% over Duterte’s 41%.
In a separate potential matchup, the survey indicates a statistical dead heat between the Vice President and Senator Raffy Tulfo, with both candidates garnering 46% support. Tulfo demonstrates immense strength in Balance Luzon, capturing 72% of the vote compared to Duterte’s 19%.
Pulse Asia noted that with two years remaining before the 2028 polls, these three figures have solidified their roles as the primary contenders.
Currently, between 6% to 7% of the electorate remains undecided, suggesting that the race could tighten further as the campaign season approaches.
