Vice President Sara Duterte visited three detained political allies at the Quezon City Jail on Tuesday, August 4, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The BJMP reported that Duterte stayed at the detention facility for over three hours, arriving at noon and leaving at 3:20 p.m.
“During her visit, she met with Senator Rodante Dizon Marcoleta; Senator Jose Pimentel Ejercito Jr., known as Jinggoy E. Estrada; and former Congressman Michael Tan Defensor,” the bureau said.
Marcoleta and Defensor have been held at the facility since July in connection with plunder allegations involving ₱75 million in donations Marcoleta allegedly received from Defensor and two businessmen in 2025.
Meanwhile, Estrada has been detained at the same jail since June over a separate plunder case tied to controversial flood control projects.
