Viu Philippines has unveiled the teaser and official teaser poster for its upcoming romantic-drama series Love, Siargao, marking the highly anticipated first on-screen partnership of Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Siargao, one of the Philippines’ premier tourist destinations, the series brings together two of the country’s most celebrated stars in a fresh and compelling love story.
Richards and Lustre rose to prominence through their respective loveteams that captured the hearts of Filipino audiences in 2015. Richards was part of the phenomenal AlDub tandem with Maine Mendoza-Atayde on Eat… Bulaga!, while Lustre became known for her successful partnership with her former real-life and on-screen partner, James Reid, as part of JaDine.
The story centers on Jao (Richards) and Kara (Lustre), two strangers whose paths unexpectedly cross because of the mysterious “Siargao Curse,” a local legend that claims visitors to the island either end up staying there forever or eventually find themselves falling in love.
Produced through the collaboration of Viu Philippines, GMA Network, and VIVA Communications, the series also features an ensemble cast that includes Coleen Garcia, Kyline Alcantara, Gab Lagman, Vince Maristela, Kakki Teodoro, AZ Martinez, Christopher Diwata, Adrian Lindayag, and South Korean actors Kim Ji-soo and Choi Bo-min.
Acclaimed filmmaker Brillante Mendoza, recipient of the Cannes Best Director award, serves as the director of the project.
Love, Siargao is set to premiere soon on Viu Philippines and will also have an exclusive free television broadcast on GMA-7.
