Actor Archie Alemania revealed that his career in the entertainment industry has hit a standstill following his legal controversy with actress-singer Rita Daniela, sharing that he has not received any acting projects since the issue erupted.
During an interview on the YouTube channel of talent manager and radio host Ogie Diaz, Alemania opened up about how the situation severely impacted his primary source of income.
When asked by Diaz if he views the controversy as a significant blow that paralyzed his career momentum, the actor confirmed the heavy setback.
“Would you consider na big blow sa career mo, kung bakit biglang tumamlay ang career mo pagkatapos ng isyu sa inyo ni Rita Daniela?” Diaz asked.
“Oo naman. Siyempre naman. Simula nang mangyari ‘yun, ’yung isyu na ’yon, wala na akong taping. Wala na akong trabaho. So total stop lahat. Until now,” Alemania responded.
Alemania shared that a director from GMA Network expressed interest in casting him for an upcoming project. However, the opportunity slipped away after the production staff flagged his pending legal battle.
“May isang direktor na kumukuha sa akin sa isang network, sa GMA, at ang sabi ng direktor e, ang sabi raw ng staff e may kaso pa raw ako,” he disclosed.
The actor noted that he has not yet tried seeking work opportunities from other major networks. While taking a hiatus from acting, he has been working outside the entertainment industry with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), an attached agency of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The career drought stems from the legal dispute initiated by Daniela, who filed a complaint for acts of lasciviousness against Alemania in October 2024 under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
In October 2025, a Bacoor court found Alemania guilty of the charge, sentencing him to an indeterminate prison term ranging from one month and one day to one year and one day. The court further ordered him to pay ₱20,000 in civil indemnity alongside ₱20,000 in moral damages.
Alemania maintains his innocence and has filed an appeal against the ruling. Despite the ongoing legal ordeal, he expressed hope for an eventual return to acting.
