Bacolod City is preparing for the sixth edition of the Bacolod Rum Festival on August 15, bringing a packed schedule of competitions, music, dance, and live entertainment across two key venues: SM City Bacolod North Block and North Capitol Road.
The annual celebration honors the island’s rich sugarcane heritage while highlighting Bacolod’s artistic energy and renowned hospitality.
Daytime events kick off at SM City Bacolod North Block, starting with the Flair Bartending Competition from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., where bartenders will showcase their technical skills and showmanship. This will be followed by the Bacolod Signature Cocktail Competition from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring original drink recipes inspired by local flavors and culture.
In the evening, the festivities move outdoors for the Free Rum Dance Street Party along North Capitol Road starting at 6:00 p.m. The main event will feature Zumba sessions, live DJ sets, musical performances, and various entertainment acts.
Festivalgoers of legal drinking age can sample complimentary rum products from participating brands—Ginebra San Miguel, Tanduay, and Emperador—with organizers promoting responsible consumption throughout the event.
First staged in 2019, the Bacolod Rum Festival has become a hallmark cultural event celebrating the city’s blend of tradition, creativity, and modern spirit.
