CALOOCAN CITY, RED CROSS OPEN NEW NORTH CALOOCAN SUB-OFFICE

CALOOCAN CITY, Philippines — The local government of Caloocan City, in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), inaugurated a new sub-office on Thursday, October 1, aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities and bringing healthcare solutions to residents.

Located in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, the two-story facility was donated by the city government to serve communities across North Caloocan, including Bagong Silang, Deparo, and Camarin. The new hub is set to provide vital blood services, disaster response operations, and first aid training programs.

Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan and PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang led the ceremony and blessing of the structure, accompanied by leadership, staff, and volunteers from the PRC Caloocan City Chapter.

Alongside the opening, the organization held a health caravan that provided free medical consultations, ultrasound scans, blood typing, blood pressure monitoring, necessary medicines, and hot meals to attending community members.

PRC Chairman and former Senator Richard “Dick” Gordon expressed appreciation to the municipal leadership for donating the building, noting that the location strengthens the organization’s ability to deliver direct aid and improve emergency intervention times.

The event was also attended by PRC-Caloocan Vice Chairman Aubrey Malapitan, PRC Caloocan City Chapter Chairman Danilo Sanchez, and members of the chapter’s board of directors.
